These little frogs live in the fish pond in the front yard here at our Australia house sit. At night, we see them climbing the walls and among the plants in the garden.
Their name is derived from the fact that they sound exactly like motorbikes. It actually took us a while to realize that the sound we were hearing in the evening was not a distant motorbike.
Unfortunately, Chienne, the Jack Russell Terrier that we are pet sitting for, will torture them if she catches one in the garden. We’ve saved several of these poor creatures from her playful, but deadly game of cat and mouse (dog and frog?).
