On August 1, 2013, we took our first flight to the other side of the world. We had agreed during a 10-minute telephone call to house and pet sit in a town of about 1300 Australians called Kendenup. We had never heard of the town, nor had we heard of the closest city, Albany.
Albany has a population of 30,000 and is about 45 minutes away. We learned upon our arrival, that it was where we would have to travel for most of our shopping needs.
In truth, we really knew very little about Western Australia or what Australians were like. We just knew that we wanted an adventure. And we sure did have an extraordinary time there.
