Harvesting Snow Peas during our
Australian House Sit

Growing snow peas in the garden in Australia

Laurie and I both enjoy gardening and when we left our home behind, we expected we would miss it. But house sitting has given us plenty of time to enjoy digging in the soil and growing our own vegetables and flowers.

In Western Australia, the homeowners had a large garden and plenty of beautiful flowers and vegetables already planted for us to enjoy. Besides the broad beans and lettuce, we enjoyed a bumper crop of snow peas. A stir fry of prawns and snow peas was particularly delicious.

Since that house sit was six months long, we also had the time to both plant and harvest our own veggie choices. We ate our own radishes and basil early in the season and later had bushels of tomatoes, also planted by the homeowners, but raised by us.
