For the past four plus years, I have only worn one pair of shoes/sandals. I have worn them hiking in the Maine woods, strolling on beaches, hiking in jungles, and walking the dusty streets, of Costa Rica and Mexico. I have worn them in the cities and towns on both the West and East coast of the United States and in Canada.
My Keen Newport H2 Sandals have protected my feet in oceans, in rivers, and in lakes, while canoeing, kayaking, boating and beach combing. I have found them to be supportive and comfortable in all situations, and they have stood up very well indeed. I usually wear them without socks, but have worn them with socks on colder days and they fit fine both ways.
I think that the Keen Newport H2 is a terrific outdoor sandal. When you only want to pack one pair of shoes, you want them to be comfortable and hold up in all conditions and these really fit the bill for me. That said, these Keens are not so good for snow or freezing cold weather. For that you need a nice warm pair of boots!
